Middle School Newsletter

Hello, Middle School Families,

Congratulation 7th and 8th grade students on completing final exams! With exams over, our first semester comes to an end for all Middle School students. The faculty is very proud of the effort and drive the students showed as they prepared for finals. Monday marks the beginning of the 2nd Semester and all grades begin anew.

Our 5th/6th grade students answered 90 out of 100 questions correctly in the Winter Knowledge Master held Wednesday. The Knowledge Master is an exciting, fast-paced competition that must be completed in one session requiring 1 to 1 1/2 hours for 5th and 6th grade teams. This competition challenges the students knowledge, analysis, and application skills in a timed format that the children truly enjoyed. Students from all 50 states and several schools from around the world participate to test their abilities against other schools. Final results will be published next week so stay tuned!

On Wednesday, the Middle School hosted the spelling bee championship for 5th-8th grades. Eight students qualified to compete in the bee from each grade level Language Arts class. After many rounds, only two students remained: Karishma Muthukumar and Rebecca Baron. In the end, Rebecca Baron was crowned the winner after 6 championship rounds. Rebecca will represent Chatsworth Hills Academy at the Daily News Spelling Bee in February. Congratulations, Rebecca!

As the new semester begins Monday, please speak with your students to remind them that they have the opportunity to renew a commitment to excellence in their classwork, homework, and learning.
