Middle School Newsletter

Hello, Middle School Families,

"Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right."
-Oprah Winfrey (American television personality, actress, and producer b. 1954)

Happy New Year and welcome back to Chatsworth Hills Academy Middle School!. If you have not done so, please discuss the idea of a fresh start and the promise that a new year brings to each and every one of us. This is an opportunity to reflect on our strengths and the things we did well to contribute to our success. It also offers an equally important opportunity to make some changes to things that have not been productive or have added to success. Middle School students need these reminders and encouragement from parents and teachers who have experience in learning from mistakes and the joy that comes from making key improvements in our habits and personal lives.

The main highlight of the week was the Spirit Assembly held on Friday. This was a great chance to bring the entire CHA community together to celebrate January birthdays, sing songs, and learn about the Core Value for January: Trustworthiness.

The main focus of the assembly was a talk about "How do we govern ourselves?" by Social Studies teacher, Colin Martin Mr. Martin held the children spellbound with his history lesson of governance as he took the children around the Ancient Worlds and shared the key ideals each civilization offered to the world. Thank you Mr. Martin for an inspiring lesson on governance!

Another fresh new year is here...
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give.
-William Arthur Ward (American scholar, editor, pastor, and teacher)

Happy New Year,

Tim Gerrity and the Middle School Faculty
